This biographical film provides insight into the life of renowned British author D.H. Lawrence (Ian McKellen), best known for his sexually explicit novel LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER. In addition to exploring Lawrence's youth, PRIEST OF LOVE examines important events in Lawrence's personal and professional career, including his tempestuous relationship with his wife and sometime collaborator Frieda (Janet Suzman); his battle against censorship (LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER was banned in England for years); and his bisexuality.

历史事件简单铺陈了....Ian老爷子及其他一众老戏骨的演技值得一看
这一片让人着实期待，但看了以后观感却实属平平。拍大作家本身的电影，难得有好看的，劳伦斯这个人在生活中的魅力，远逊于他在文学，比如恋爱中的女人中的化身。电影的蓝本是爱的牧师那本劳伦斯传记，我小时候就翻过，印象里挺牵强耸动的一本。
